| Darla & Peggy Sue |
In June of 2006, an old pony and her middle aged daughter arrived at OMRH. Peggy and Darla were known as "the little ladies." These two lovely little ones charmed us with their wit and tenaciousness. |
As happens with old horses, their time ran out. Because of various physical problems, the decision was made to euthanize the two ponies. And since Darla and Peggy were separated only very briefly in their lives, it was determined that the two ladies be put down at the same time, so neither pony would know a moment without the other. |
On August 1, 2008, the two ponies were released from their pain. They are buried together (together in death, as they were in life) in the OMRH cemetery. |
