Little Mims Porter was donated to the Haven by the family who raced her, then used her as a broodmare. The son of the family was a student of Jeanne's when she taught creative writing in one of the Cynthiana schools, and he knew about the Haven through her talks there. The family took care of Little Miss Porter until an opening was available for her at the Haven. Little Miss Porter arrived at the Haven May 6, 2007.
